Cookies Policy
Introduction
The Alphavet.gr website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve your browsing experience, analyze traffic, and deliver personalized content and advertisements. Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Upon your next visit, cookies allow the website to recognize the browser and remember information such as your preferences. The use of cookies is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Greek Law 3471/2006 (on data protection in electronic communications). According to Article 4§5 of Law 3471/2006, storage of or access to information on your terminal equipment is permitted only with your consent, after clear and comprehensive information has been provided. The only exception concerns cookies that are strictly necessary for the transmission of a communication or for the provision of a service you have explicitly requested – these do not require consent, as they are deemed technically necessary for the operation of the website.
Alphavet LP complies with the requirements of European and Greek guidelines regarding cookie consent. This means that any non-essential cookies (such as analytics, functionality, or targeted advertising cookies) are installed only if you actively give your consent. You can refuse non-essential cookies without affecting your access to the website (a “cookie wall” is not applied). In this Cookie Policy, you will find a detailed categorization of the cookies we use, their purposes, their duration, as well as information on third-party data recipients, in line with the guidance of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB).
1. Categories of Cookies
The cookies we use are grouped into the following categories:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for the operation of the website and cannot be disabled in our systems. Without them, the website cannot function properly, as they enable basic functions such as navigation and access to secure areas. Necessary cookies are exempt from the legal requirement for consent, since their sole purpose is to provide the service requested by the user.
Targeting/Advertising Cookies: These cookies are used to track users across websites and to create interest profiles, in order to display advertisements relevant to each user. They help us present you with content and ads tailored to your interests and more valuable to you. They include cookies from third-party advertising networks and platforms (such as Google, Meta, Outbrain/Taboola, etc.) and are placed only with your consent.

Strictly Necessary Cookies
Note: Strictly necessary cookies do not contain personally identifiable information and are enabled by default, since without them the website cannot function (consent is not required).
Targeting/Advertising Cookies
Note: Targeted advertising cookies are generally third-party cookies. When active, they collect information about your online activities (e.g. pages visited, ad clicks, purchases) and may be combined with information from other sources to infer your interests. This information is shared with the respective providers (Google, Meta, Outbrain, Taboola, etc.), who act as independent data controllers for the data they collect through their cookies. For example, Google’s/DoubleClick’s IDE cookie helps Google show you targeted ads on sites other than Alphavet.gr, while Meta’s _fbp cookie enables Meta to associate your visit with your Facebook profile for advertising purposes. The data collected via these cookies (such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, etc.) may be transferred to servers outside the European Economic Area (e.g., to the US in the case of Google and Meta). All such transfers are carried out in accordance with GDPR requirements (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses), and the third-party providers are contractually bound to protect your data. You can find more information in the respective providers’ privacy policies (e.g. Google Privacy Policy, Meta Cookies Policy, Outbrain Privacy Policy, etc.).
3. User Cookie Management
You can manage your cookie preferences in the following ways:
Via the Website (Preferences Tool): If you wish to modify your choices, you can use the “Cookie Management” function (e.g. through a relevant link in the site footer or your account settings). By clicking there, the cookie settings panel will reappear, allowing you to enable or disable entire categories of cookies (Statistics, Functionality, Targeting) and save your new preferences. Withdrawal of your consent is immediate – the corresponding cookies will be deleted or no longer used by the website. This functionality is implemented in compliance with the requirement that consent can be withdrawn as easily as it is given.
Via Your Browser: Alternatively or additionally, you can configure your own browser to block or delete cookies. In the settings of each browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.) you will find options to delete stored cookies, to accept or reject all cookies, or to manage them on a per-website basis. For example, you can set the browser to not accept third-party cookies or to notify you every time a cookie is stored. You can also delete all cookies already stored (note that this will log you out of websites and erase stored preferences). References for cookie management per browser can be found at the following links: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc. More information on managing cookies can be found at allaboutcookies.org.
Please note that if you disable all cookies through your browser, certain functions of the website may not be available or the site may not remember your preferences. However, strictly necessary cookies are recommended to remain enabled, as otherwise the website may not function fully (e.g., you may not be able to remain logged in to services). In any case, Alphavet will not deny you access to its content if you choose to reject non-essential cookies.
4. Amendments to the Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time (e.g., due to changes in legislation or in the technology we use). We encourage you to check this page regularly for updates. At the top of the Policy we indicate the date of the last update. In the event of material changes (particularly regarding the categories of cookies we use or the way we obtain consent), we will notify you clearly either through a pop-up banner during your visit or by other appropriate means.
If you have any questions regarding Alphavet’s Cookie Policy or about the processing of your data in general, you can also consult our Privacy Policy or contact us through our contact form or by email at info@alphavet.gr.
